- Disassemble all engine control components and exhaust shields when needed to access the catalytic converter assembly. Remove the catalytic converter assembly. Clean all gasket surfaces. Install a new catalytic converter assembly with new gaskets and hardware. Reassemble all related components. Recheck for proper operation.
